Environmental Services Assistant

Completion of high school, or combination of education and training deemed equivalent.

Experience in a similar or relevant role, an asset.

Ability to meet the physical demands of the job including: standing, sweeping, pushing/pulling carts, walking on uneven surfaces, reaching forward, reaching above and below the shoulders, ability to lift up to 25 kg.

Ability to read, write and speak English fluently to understand verbal work orders, instructions and material such as short notes, brief forms etc.

Ability to do simple mathematical calculations (e.g. adding, subtracting, etc.)

Ability to perform duties in a professional and courteous manner and produce high quality work while meeting deadlines in accordance with UHN standards.

The Environmental Aide plays an essential role in cleaning and infection prevention in our hospitals and a positive patient experience to those we serve in our community.

Performing routine cleaning (surface disinfection, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, etc.) of all areas of the facility including but not limited to occupied patient rooms, clinic areas, nursing stations, waiting rooms, lobbies, washrooms, offices, kitchens, utility rooms, corridors, morgues, equipment, and public areas in accordance with quality standards, procedures, and training.
