Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook)
Strong attention to detail

Responsibilities

Support the Volunteer Operations team with daily tasks related to recruitment of general and medical volunteers for weekly events and the TCS New York City Marathon
Provide customer service to prospective and registered volunteers through daily management of volunteer inboxes
Create pre- and post-event communications using the volunteer administration system and email communication platform
Assist the Volunteer Manager at weekly events with race day support including setup, check-in, issue escalation, volunteer support, and breakdown.
Support logistics for in-person and virtual medical volunteer orientations for the TCS New York City Marathon
About the Company
The
Event Development and Production Department
develops and produces NYRR events from concept all the way through execution in alignment with NYRR\u2019s mission. The TCS New York City Marathon, United Airlines NYC Half and the RBC Brooklyn Half are just a few of the 40+ adult events and 30+ Rising New York Road Runners youth events produced by the team each year. The team leads core elements of the operations including physical site management, timing and scoring operations, volunteer management, hospitality and special events, safety and security, management of our warehouse and all race collateral, city and state agency relationship management, and permitting.

The New York Road Runners Internship program is a paid, 21-week experience in which interns have the opportunity to learn from the best in the non-profit business. Interns will work collaboratively with professionals in their field of study and will have opportunities to network across the organization. The program will include professional development events and a chance to make a direct impact on the communities in New York City by working select events. Interns will receive onboarding and training to learn about NYRR and gain the knowledge needed to best perform in their role.
