Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, or related field

8+ years of progressive procurement or purchasing experience, including 3+ years in leadership roles

Demonstrated success in vendor management, sourcing strategy, and process improvement

Proven track record of delivering cost savings and operational efficiency

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Industry experience in fleet services, logistics, automotive, or related sectors strongly preferred

Responsibilities

A rapidly expanding national service organization is seeking a strategic and execution-focused Assistant Vice President of Purchasing to lead both direct and indirect procurement operations. This role drives standardization, compliance, and cost optimization across a distributed networkensuring purchasing practices align with financial goals and operational needs. The ideal candidate is a data-driven leader who can scale processes, elevate team performance, and build strong internal and supplier partnerships.

Lead and develop a high-performing team of direct and indirect buyers, ensuring alignment with company-wide priorities

Oversee sourcing and procurement across materials, services, and equipment categories, including fleet parts, consumables, uniforms, IT, and facilities

Establish and enforce purchasing standards, controls, and audit-ready procedures to drive consistency and compliance

Own vendor strategy—selection, performance management, and contract adherence across national and local suppliers
