Responsibilities

The Coding and Charge Entry Analyst is responsible for ensuring that all professional services billings for the department supported are accurately entered into the IDX billing system in a timely manner.

The Coding and Charge Entry Analyst is responsible for all the components of the billing process through the entering of charges into the IDX billing system.

The process encompasses ensuring that the providers have provider numbers, all professional activity is capture, encounter forms are complete, patients are appropriately registered and that all charges are entered into the system.

Must perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the hospital's policies and procedures, including its Service Standards and its Code of Conduct.

As appropriate, obtain LPCH medical record number for outreach patients and registers patient in IDX.

When necessary, verifies insurance information with the hospital business office where services were provided.
