Responsibilities
Mattel is seeking a Staff Quality Engineer to provide enterprise-level technical leadership and shape the global quality strategy across brands, regions, and product categories.
This role serves as a subject matter expert and strategic leader, driving standardization, innovation, and continuous improvement in quality systems, product safety, and engineering practices.
The Staff Quality Engineer influences global decisions, partners with senior leadership, and establishes long-term strategies to ensure best-in-class product quality and consumer safety.
Define and drive global quality strategy, standards, and best practices across all brands, product categories, and regions.
Establish and evolve enterprise-wide frameworks for Product Requirements Documents, Product Characterization Documents, validation, and risk management.
Serve as a subject matter expert in global toy safety regulations, driving proactive compliance strategies and engagement with regulatory bodies and industry groups.

The Team:
The Quality Engineering team partners with Product Design, Development, and Manufacturing to ensure all toys and consumer products meet Mattel’s standards for safety, compliance, durability, and play performance. The team supports products from concept through production and post-market, working closely with global manufacturing partners and internal and external laboratories. We leverage data, consumer insights, and real-world use conditions to ensure products are safe, compliant, and built to withstand how kids actually play with them.
