Education & Experience Requirements
Must be 18 years or older
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
At least one year of experience coaching, teaching, or working with children in a recreational setting required
Experience leading on-mountain activities (mountain boarding, climbing, fishing, hiking, etc.) preferred

Work Environment and Physical Demands
Ability to reach, crouch, kneel, stand, bend or be on your feet for extended periods of time
Regularly work in wet, cold, hot conditions requiring the use of protective apparel/equipment to prevent exposure to the elements and may be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces
Must be able to frequently lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs. individually or with assistance (weight limits can vary according to position, but no more than 50)

Responsibilities
The Camp Aspen Snowmass (CAS) Counselor helps create unforgettable experiences for campers in a stunning mountain environment. As a Camp Counselor, you will lead both private and group programs, guiding children through exciting outdoor activities while fostering confidence, curiosity, and a deep love for nature. This position reports to the Director of Children’s Programs.
Applications for this position will be considered on a rolling basis.
Essential Job Functions / Key Job Responsibilities
Lead campers in a variety of outdoor adventures, ensuring a fun, safe, and engaging experience
Plan and facilitate age-appropriate, hands-on activities that encourage exploration, creativity, and teamwork
Work collaboratively with fellow counselors to foster a supportive and energetic camp atmosphere
