About the Company

Explore the beautiful countryside of Northwestern CT while practicing in a family-friendly work environment!

Since opening our doors in 1979, Candlewood Animal Hospital has been dedicated to helping pets in the community stay healthy and live long lives. We’re proud to have built a culture rooted in respect, support, and a genuine love for what we do. We value individualized care for every patient and encourage team members to bring curiosity and compassion into every case. If you’re a team player who’s passionate about veterinary medicine and looking for a place where you can grow, be supported, and truly belong, you’ll feel right at home here.

Our community is the heart of what we do. We work with many animal welfare organizations to find appropriate homes for unwanted pets. We also have a strong relationship with several 24-hour care facilities, with many specialists, for those pets needing emergency and/or advanced specialty care. We’re also proud to be PENNHIP certified, trained in pet rehabilitation, recognized as a Cat Friendly practice, and honored with the Heart of the Bulldog Award for our dedication. We’re a team that is always working to do what’s best for our patients and their families.

Our hospital is equipped with technology that helps us provide the

highest level of medicine

to our community.
