Requirements
Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull items weighing up to 30lbs on an occasional to regular basis.
Ability to use hand tools and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity.
Ability to stand and work on feet for extended periods during testing and setup activities.
Certificate of Technology from an Institute of Technology in Electronics (power/control option), Electrical, Power, Telecommunications, Instrumentation or Automation disciplines with preference given to the discipline directly relating to the position or lab.
Two (2) years of related experience working in a lab setting up and performing tests on a variety of electrical equipment, components and cables.

Annual Salary - $64K - $69K
If there are no fully qualified applicants, candidates who do not meet the experience requirements, may be considered as Electrical Testing Technologist 1 Trainees. Applicants with demonstrated applicable experience may be given partial credit towards the four (4) year program.

Responsibilities
1. Sets up and carries out electrical tests under the supervision of an engineer or technologist.
2. Performs laboratory measurements following established procedures and records the results.
3. Operates computers and test instruments as required for testing. Performs routine repairs, maintenance and calibration of electrical test equipment, tools and instruments.
4. Builds or modifies test jigs and support structures to be used for electrical tests.
5. Specifies and purchases materials and equipment needed for routine operation of electrical test labs.
6. Maintains test facilities in a safe and organized condition.
