Job Description:
The Senior Accounts Representative (SAR) reports to the Manager, Customer Operations in the Customer Service department of AltaLink. The SAR will be accountable for coordinating action across AltaLink to ensure customers are satisfied with AltaLink’s services. The role requires strong relationship building skills, leadership skills and the ability to coordinate action at various levels in both AltaLink and the Customer organizations.
Responsibilities:
- Understanding the key business drivers, priorities and concerns of AltaLink’s customers.
- Coordinating action within AltaLink delivery teams to resolve customer concerns.
- Participating on cross-functional and industry initiatives and teams to enable changes beneficial to customers and to AltaLink.
- Creating and revising Interconnection Agreements and Operating Procedures in coordination with System Operations.
- Supporting the execution of customer survey processes, analyze results, develop strategies to improve service and achieve customer satisfaction targets.
- Coaching and guiding account representatives.
- Following and continuously improving customer delivery processes.
- Planning and leading the execution of annual site review meetings for assigned existing customers.
- Designing and delivering programs to continuously advance AltaLink’s customer service capabilities.
- Developing briefing documents for Executive leadership.
- Identifying, developing and strengthening relationships with customer contacts at various levels including operational, business development, commercial and senior leadership
- Designing and hosting customer events to strengthen AltaLink’s reputation with customers and promote AltaLink’s corporate image.
- Facilitating the completion of behind the fence projects in support of customer changes at existing locations.
- Guiding assigned customers through the Alberta Electric System Operator’s Connection Process.
- Initiating commercial arrangements for customers including contracting, invoicing and managing financial securities.
- Keeping current of local issues or proposed changes affecting AltaLink’s operations and reputation.
- Represent AltaLink on special projects and business process teams as assigned.
- Demonstrate key behaviors and meet identified expectations outlined in our four cultural pillars – one team, continuous improvement, customer focus and personal accountability.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, legal, marketing, communications, or a related field.
- Five years of progressively responsible experience working with industrial customers including direct experience with building customer relationships.
- Proven ability/experience in the above noted responsibilities.
- Extensive understanding of generation, distribution and transmission business considered a plus.
- Exceptional customer service and facilitation skills.
- Demonstrated skills in negotiation, conflict management, and communication of complex concepts.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- Ability to coordinate and manage multiple priorities.
- Experience in other technical functions such as operations, regulatory, and/or planning, considered a plus.
- Experience in negotiating contractual commercial and legal terms considered a plus.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interface with team members and customers to promote positive customer outcomes.
- Travel within Alberta is required.
- Proven track record of good performance and attendance.
