Responsibilities

The Mechanic is responsible for supporting mechanical works related to Sequential Excavation Method (SEM) and tunneling operations.

This role ensures the safe, efficient installation, operation, and maintenance of mechanical systems and equipment.

The SEM Mechanic works closely with project teams to support schedules, uphold quality standards, maintain equipment reliability, and resolve mechanical issues that may impact tunneling progress.

Perform installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and operation of mechanical equipment used in SEM and tunneling works.

Work collaboratively with engineers, foremen, site managers, and other trades to support mechanical activities within the overall tunneling workflow.

Ensure mechanical tasks are integrated smoothly into the excavation and support sequence without disrupting other operations.

About the Company

Ferrovial Construction Canada Inc. and VINCI Construction Grands Projets are undertaking the design, build, and finance the Ontario Line Southern Civil, Stations, and Tunnel (South Civil) package.

As Ontario Transit Group, we are now mobilizing our design and construction crews, with major works. The South Civil contract is anticipated to be completed in 2030.

The project will strengthen Ontario’s economy by supporting an estimated 1,500 jobs at the peak of construction.
