Senior Developer Advocate

Experience as a software engineer building, shipping, and maintaining production software used by real users.

Experience with Python, Go, C++, or TypeScript is especially relevant.

A track record of creating high-quality technical content for developers, such as tutorials, videos, sample projects, workshops, or talks.

Hands-on experience with hardware, IoT, embedded systems, electronics, maker projects, or similar physical systems.

A strong understanding of how developers discover, evaluate, and adopt new technologies.

We’re looking for a Senior Developer Advocate to help more developers discover Viam and start building with the platform.

The Developer Advocacy team reports to our SVP of Product & Education.

You’ll be responsible for growing Viam’s developer community and driving activation on the platform.

Your work will include building creative software and hardware projects, turning them into content and experiences developers want to try themselves, and representing Viam across developer communities, events, and online.

Projects can involve a range of topics like a robot arm that sorts objects, a computer-vision-powered machine, a smart device, or an experiment with new physical AI technology.

Prior professional robotics experience isn’t required, but you should be excited to work hands-on with hardware and physical systems.
