The qualifications.
You have a bachelor’s degree in Food Science or a related field, or equivalent experience in a relevant food science role. You bring practical quality assurance experience, ideally within a food or pharmaceutical manufacturing facility. You are comfortable alternating between the lab and production floor.
The knowledge.
You can read, interpret, and apply scientific standards, measurements, processes, and results. You understand basic addition and subtraction, and you can accurately measure and interpret temperature and weight data. You are familiar with quality control, lab testing, sensory testing, and manufacturing processes, particularly in food production environments.
The drive.
You are naturally curious, proactive, and bring strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. You identify opportunities for process improvement and work collaboratively with production teams to implement solutions. You are highly organized, detail-oriented, and excel at planning, with a continuous learning mindset to expand your knowledge and expertise.
Compensation & Benefits
Impact.
Quality and Food Safety are foundational at Skjodt-Barrett. Your work will directly support the systems that ensure every product leaving our facility meets rigorous safety and quality standards. In highly regulated categories such as infant nutrition, where expectations are exacting and oversight is strict, your role will help maintain the trust our customers place in us every day.
Hands-on exposure.
This role offers hands-on involvement across the full production process. You will work both in the lab and on the production floor, participating in sensory testing of raw ingredients, monitoring temperatures and pH throughout production, and sampling finished products to verify quality standards. You will collaborate closely with Production, R&D, and Quality teams, gaining practical insight into how quality systems operate in a modern food manufacturing environment.
Career development.
Skjodt-Barrett has a long history of promoting from within. Many team members have built their careers starting in plant or administrative roles and progressed into leadership across Quality, Production, and Operations. In this role, you will build the technical and operational experience that can open doors across the organization.
