Requirements
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DOE Q-level (equivalent to DoD TS) security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, project management, or a related field, or the equivalent combination of education and related experience.
Experience working in a laboratory, R&D, or machine shop environment.
Proficient verbal and written communication skills necessary to effectively collaborate in a team environment, document analyses, and prepare, present, and explain technical information.
Ability to work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment with initiative, creativity, and strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects with competing needs in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
We have an opening for a
Project Management Engineer
to lead and support the execution of high-impact technical projects that address national security challenges. This role focuses on managing milestone-driven, high-risk, high-reward projects in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment. You will work alongside a Principal Investigator and technical experts to deliver results on aggressive timelines while navigating complex scientific and engineering landscapes. You will contribute to a growing portfolio of national security related R&D initiatives in fields such as bioengineering, advanced materials and manufacturing, devices and microsystems, and inertial fusion energy. This position emphasizes initiative, autonomy, and leadership in both planning and execution. You will help drive large-scale strategic projects that align with the Lab’s mission in research and development for national security. This position will be in the Materials Engineering Division (MED) within the Engineering Directorate.
This position offers a hybrid schedule, blending in-person and virtual presence. You will have the flexibility to work from home one or more days per week.
This position will be filled at either level based on knowledge and related experience as assessed by the hiring team. Additional job responsibilities (outlined below) will be assigned if hired at the higher level.
