Engineering Manager, Risk & Identity Platform

BS, M.S., or PhD. in Computer Science or related field

3+ years of experience in people management leading backend teams

8+ years of industry experience

Extensive experience as an engineer in a fast-paced, platform-focused development environment

Preferred experience with modern authentication protocols (e.g., OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML) and emerging standards (e.g., Passkeys, WebAuthn)

Experience designing and building authorization systems; familiarity with models like ReBAC, ABAC, or Zanzibar is a strong plus

DoorDash is looking for an Engineering Manager to lead the Risk and Identity Platform team. This team is at the center of our platform, responsible for building the next generation of critical infrastructure that will enable a zero-trust security posture for the entire company. You will lead a talented team of backend engineers to build a self-service Identity platform that makes it easy for all DoorDash engineers to build secure-by-default applications.

As the Engineering Manager, you will own and execute a multi-year vision for identity at DoorDash. You will drive a technical roadmap that balances ironclad security and reliability with the developer velocity required to support new products and verticals. You will be a key strategic partner to Product, Security, and Privacy leadership, shaping the future of how DoorDash manages trust and access at a global scale.

Lead and mentor a team of high-performing backend engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, security, and operational excellence

Drive the technical strategy for our core Accounts, Authentication, and Authorization systems

Innovate on our authentication stack, exploring and implementing the latest standards like passkeys to enhance user security and experience at scale
