Education
Requires an Associate's Degree in computer science or a closely related field from an accredited college or university OR its equivalent in terms of total course credits/units [i.e., at least sixty (60) semester or ninety (90) quarter credits/units with a minimum of twenty (20) semester or thirty (30) quarter credits/units in computer science or a closely-related field].
Substitution
Experience performing analysis, installation and technical support in a network environment may be substituted for the required degree on a year-for-year basis (up to a maximum of two (2) years). One (1) year is equivalent to thirty (30) semester units / forty-five (45) quarter units with a minimum of 10 semester / 15 quarter units in computer science or a closely related field.
Completion of a one (1) year State (DAS) Information Technology apprenticeship program equivalent to the City and County of San Francisco’s 1090 IT Operations Support Training Program may substitute for the required education.

The position has a ten-step salary scale ranging from $75,218-$93,184. The successful candidate will be placed at a salary step based on years of experience and additional relevant degrees, certifications, credentials, or skills.

Responsibilities
About the Information Technology Team
The team is a collaborative and dynamic group of 13 employees, including an IT Director, two Systems Engineers, three IT Operations Support Administrators, two Application Support/Training employees, a Database Manager, a Business Application Administrator, a Microsoft 365 Administrator, and a Law Librarian. The team provides its customers with a comprehensive package of applications including litigation support and digital forensic tools essential to delivering efficient and timely legal services to the City and County of San Francisco; conducts ongoing research of hardware and software developments; identifies technologies and knowledge resources appropriate for existing and anticipated office needs; effectively integrates equipment and software into the daily workflow; and facilitates productivity and customer satisfaction through effective customizations and timely support.
About the IT Operations Support Administrator I Position
The Office seeks an IT Operations Support Administrator I to support the modernization, maintenance, and reliability of its IT systems. A primary responsibility of this role will be assisting with migrating data from on‑premises file shares to cloud‑based repositories.
The ideal candidate will have a broad understanding of the technology stack commonly used in a legal office environment and be able to support it in a fast‑paced and high‑demand setting. The successful candidate will also demonstrate familiarity with IT governance and service‑management principles, enabling them to navigate the regulatory and operational requirements that apply to the Office. They will be able to interpret and clearly communicate IT policies, procedures, and standards to internal customers.
