Requirements

Minimum two (2) years' experience as a nurse in a hospice or home health environment

Minimum one (1) year experience in a supervising capacity in a hospice setting

Nursing skills as defined by accepted nursing standards

Demonstrates ability to assess and respond to the needs of patients, families, and caregivers in varied settings and to function effectively in the home or nursing facility environment

Demonstrates skill in nursing practice, ability to cope with ill, disabled, terminal patients, family emotional stress, and tolerance of individual lifestyles

Familiarity with Home Care Home Base (HCHB)

Responsibilities

The Clinical Development Nurse is responsible for leading clinical training and onboarding initiatives across the home health service line.

This role ensures new team members are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and support needed to deliver high-quality, compassionate hospice care.

The Clinical Development Nurse partners closely with home health leadership to build strong working relationships, foster a culture of mentorship and coaching, and ensure clinical excellence and consistency in patient care delivery.

Lead clinical onboarding and training for Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Home Health Aides, Spiritual Care providers, Medical Social Workers, Music Therapists, Massage Therapists, and other team members

Train Registered Nurses on proper admission protocols and hospice care standards

Provide comprehensive training on electronic medical records (EMR), tablet use, and documentation systems
