Requirements
Required:
Master’s degree from an accredited school/college of nursing OR master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant Program
Acute care certification required for APRNs
Current license as a Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois. Current license as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois. Certification as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse by a national certifying body as approved by the Illinois Department of Regulation APRN Board. Once licensed may apply for a controlled substance license and DEA number OR Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant Program/Current license as a Physician Assistant in the State of Illinois. Privileged and credentialed through the Medical Staff Office (MSO)
Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (American Heart Association) certification

Responsibilities
Northwestern Medicine has an exciting opportunity for either an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or a Physician Assistant to work in our inpatient General Cardiology and Advanced Heart Failure department. Galter 10 is a service of 17 APPs covering 48 beds. The APP will support 4 Cardiology services, with rotating attendings each week. APPs can expect an average load of 7 patients a day. The APP will provide primary service to patients experience complex, advanced Heart Failure care, VADs, and General Cardiology.
Schedule: 4x10 hour shifts with rotating weekends and holidays
no nights or on-call
