Requirements
Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program in Art History, Museum Studies, Korean Studies, East Asian Studies, or a related field.
Fluency in both Korean and English is required.
Knowledge of Korean art, history, or material culture supported by academic coursework or research interest.
Experience or familiarity with object handling, collections work, or photographing objects is an asset.
Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Compensation & Benefits
SCHEDULE: 35 hours weekly
PROBATIONARY PERIOD: The internship period will serve as the evaluation period for this role.
LOCATION (onsite): Toronto, ON

WHO WE NEED
As the Leacross Summer Intern – Korean Art & Culture, you will support the Department of Art & Culture in advancing research, exhibition development, and collections initiatives related to Korean art and material culture. Working closely with the Associate Curator of Korean Art & Culture and Collections staff, you will contribute to research and collections work supporting upcoming exhibitions and updates to the Korea Gallery.
This summer internship offers hands-on experience in curatorial research, object handling, collections documentation, and program development. You will gain practical exposure to museum workflows while contributing to exhibition planning, collections rehousing, and public programming initiatives within ROM’s Korean collections.
