Requirements

Approximately 3–5 years of progressive transportation, roadway, transit, or civil infrastructure design experience.

Experience supporting transportation plans, specifications, estimates, technical reports, and construction document production.

Familiarity with VDOT roadway standards, local agency criteria, AASHTO guidance, ADA requirements, and transportation design best practices.

Proficiency with Bentley MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, and/or AutoCAD/Civil3D.

OpenRoads experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Support the development of civil and transportation design plans for transit, roadway, bus rapid transit, bike/pedestrian, and multimodal infrastructure projects.

Prepare design drawings, sketches, calculations, reports, specifications, and cost estimates for public agency transportation projects.

Assist with horizontal and vertical alignments, typical sections, cross sections, ADA improvements, corridor layouts, and related transportation design elements.

Coordinate with roadway, transit, drainage, traffic, structural, environmental, and construction teams to support complete, high-quality deliverables.

Apply VDOT, local agency, AASHTO, ADA, and applicable design standards to help deliver practical, constructible transportation solutions.

Use Bentley OpenRoads Designer, MicroStation, AutoCAD, and other design tools to support plan production and model development.
