Post Anesthetic Care Unit (PACU)
The Post Anesthesia Care Unit, PACU, provides post-operative care to patient who have undergone surgery and are recovering from anesthesia which includes general anesthesia, regional anesthesia, and local anesthesia with sedation.
Patients who have had interventional radiology procedures or mini neuro-surgical procedures in the procedure room are also monitored and recovered here.
Surgical procedures done at Toronto Western Hospital, TWH, include neuro surgery, spinal surgery, orthopaedic, hand and plastic surgery, general surgery and minimally invasive surgery, urology procedures, and ophthalmology procedures.
