Requirements

Support clients through Uniform Guidance audits and other compliance reviews.

Develop and deliver financial dashboards, KPIs, and management reports for leadership and boards.

Design and oversee implementation of accounting systems, chart of accounts, and financial processes aligned to nonprofit operations and grant tracking.

Lead onboarding and implementation of new nonprofit clients, including cloud-based accounting platforms (e.g., Sage Intacct, Bill.com).

Review and supervise work performed by engagement teams to ensure accuracy, quality, and timeliness of deliverables.

Build and maintain strong, trusted advisor relationships with nonprofit clients by understanding their mission, funding model, and strategic priorities.

Responsibilities

The Accounting & Financial Outsourcing (AFO) Senior Manager – Nonprofit Services provides strategic financial advisory and engagement leadership to a portfolio of nonprofit clients while overseeing the delivery of outsourced accounting services.

Operating within a CPA firm environment, this role serves as a

enior client advisor and engagement leader, partnering with executive leadership and boards of 501(c)(3) organizations to strengthen financial operations, improve decision-making, and support long-term sustainability.

The Senior Manager is responsible for leading engagement teams, ensuring high-quality service delivery, and managing client relationships, while also contributing to practice growth and operational excellence.

This role requires deep experience supporting mission-driven organizations with complex funding structures, including grants, contracts, and donor-restricted funding, as well as demonstrated experience with grant budgeting, grant compliance, and financial reporting to funders.
