Requirements

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

The Diesel Mechanic must have a minimum of 5 (five) years of Arctic experience operating, maintaining and repairing vehicles and equipment.

Minimum Valid Class 3 Drivers License with Clean Driving Abstract ( Class 1 is Preferred )

Following Ticket requirements:  Basic First Aid & CPR, WHMIS, Fire Extinguisher Use, Restricted Radio License, Confined Space, Fall Protection.

Great attitude and strong sense of working as a team and independently

Willing to work long rotations up to 6 weeks at a time

Responsibilities

WEHAT'S THE JOB?

The Diesel Mechanic is a contracted resource responsible for the operation of the diesel generators that produce electricity for the station and provide heat for much of the facility. The mechanic also repairs and maintains the station vehicles and heavy equipment as well as performs other equipment repairs.

Key Responsibilities:

The Diesel Mechanic must complete additional training on new equipment as required. The training may be on-line, at the  site or at another location.

The Diesel Mechanic must ensure that the required PPE is used and that all work is performed in a safe manner in accordance with federal, territorial and municipal legislated health and safety requirements.

The Diesel Mechanic must perform all maintenance indicated by the manufacturer for each piece of equipment listed in Vehicles and Equipment List. This includes seasonal maintenance of heavy equipment or machinery that remained idle for part of the year.
