Starting salary is $47,736 *For those with certified teaching experience, salary starts at $56,171.
Robust benefits package including medical, dental, vision, disability, supplemental insurance, and life insurance policy options. Application for these benefits may be made immediately upon employment. The policy is effective upon the first of the month following the first day of work.
Certificated staff have access to the Tennessee Consolidated Retirement System pension plan (TCRS). Eligible employees contribute 5% and KIPP matches up to 6%. Employees may also be eligible for 401k in which KIPP will contribute 5%.
The vacation package for salaried employees includes 29 paid days throughout the 10 month work schedule (including holidays, fall break, spring break, thanksgiving break, winter break, as well as summer break. In addition employees in this role are allotted 6 PTO days. Employees are allotted an additional 2 days after every 2 consecutive years of employment. Eligible staff members receive payment for unused PTO days at the end of the fiscal year.
Adoption/Parental Caregiver Leave- up to 10 weeks parental leave for the primary caregiver and 2 weeks parental leave for the secondary caregiver paid at 100%.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Flexibly Support Student Learning - primarily as an in-building Substitute Teacher
Engage flexibly and adaptively to the needs of students across the school per the discretion of the Principal, primarily as an in-building Substitute Teacher.
This engagement could include but is not limited to covering a classroom for parental leave, extended absence, etc; pulling small groups for intervention, classroom observations, and supporting school wide procedures such as lunch, arrival, dismissal.
Should a classroom teacher transition during the school year, the support teacher will move into the classroom as an interim teacher.
