Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse - Transfer Center

Must be a U.S. Citizen

Education/Certifications:

Education: Graduation from a State Board of Nursing approved LPN/LVN training program or completion of equivalent military training that permits sitting for the State licensure examination.

Licensure: Current, full, active and unrestricted license as a practical or vocational nurse.

Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification

Required Knowledge/Experience:

Assist with triage of patients, which may include taking vital signs, blood draws, and administrating medication.

Assist with the transport of patients within the MTF to various units such as MRI, radiology, etc.

Assist the Physician with intake assessment of inbound patients from external medical facilities, which may include taking vital signs, etc.

Assist the MTF during periods of crisis, patient surge or mass casualty, supporting a central communication hub for inbound or outbound patient traffic. Assist with direct patient care during such circumstances.

Coordinate with designated Emergency Department Staff to provide Ambulance transport for the patient and the Air Transport Team to and from helicopter landing pad and assist with the moving of the patient to the appropriate transport team.

Facilitate the transfer of emergent and non-emergent ER, ward, and clinic patients out to local and regional civilian or military facilities.
