Requirements
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DOE Q-level security clearance which requires U.S. Citizenship.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or related field, or the equivalent combination of education and related experience.
Experience with systems engineering practices understanding and broad application of MBSE tools and techniques, including hands-on experience developing and maintaining system models.
Comprehensive knowledge of discrete requirements management tools and other systems engineering tools and techniques for product realization processes, including requirements, designs, functions, failure mechanisms, risks, assessments, and verifications.
Experience with systems engineering tools and techniques, product realization processes, project work planning, scheduling, cost estimating, analyzing and managing budgets, and project controls reporting.
Ability to promote and maintain productive relationships across directorates, with other laboratories, and with personnel from external entities.

Responsibilities
We have an opening for
a Systems Engineer
to drive the adoption of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), digital requirements management, and related digital engineering practices across the Weapon Technologies and Engineering (WTE) Program within the Deterrence Capabilities Group. You will serve as a cross-functional product expert and trusted advisor, guiding engineers to adopt and maximize the value of digital engineering tools and processes, including discrete requirements management and model-based systems engineering. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, you will advance MBSE and other digital engineering practices, assist in shaping related business processes, deliver training, and act as a liaison between solution providers and end users to facilitate effective tool adoption and integration, advocate for digital engineering adoption and grow communities of practice. This position is in the Deterrence Capabilities Group (DCG) in the Defense Technologies Engineering Division (DTED), supporting the Weapon Technologies and Engineering (WTE) Program.
This position may offer a hybrid schedule, which includes the flexibility to work from home up to one day per week, after a probationary period. The specifics of the hybrid schedule, including the exact number of days required in the office and virtual work options, may vary based on the needs of the team and the organization.
This position will be filled at either level based on knowledge and related experience as assessed by the hiring team. Additional job responsibilities (outlined below) will be assigned if hired at the higher level.
