Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis is required.

Minimum of 5+ years of progressive experience in civil and structural engineering, with at least 2 years in a senior role on large-scale, multidisciplinary projects.

A Master of Science in Structural Engineering is highly preferred.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an attention to detail.

Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Responsibilities

Kairos Power is seeking a Senior Civil Structural Engineer to support the structural design of the reactor building for its Generation IV Nuclear Power Plant, including scaled prototypes and test facilities. As part of the Design Phase Interface Team, this role ensures seamless coordination of structural design across disciplines through technical guidance, clash resolution, stakeholder collaboration, and advanced structural analysis. The ideal candidate will bring leadership, deep technical expertise, and cross-disciplinary communication skills to support high-quality, integrated design outcomes.

Facilitate regular interface meetings with internal and external stakeholders, including architects, consultants, contractors, and clients.

Maintain a comprehensive interface register to document, track, and report on the status of all identified interface points.

Provide expert technical guidance on the integration of structural systems with other building and infrastructure components.

Review and approve design drawings, specifications, and submittals from various disciplines to ensure compatibility with the structural design.
