Requirements
Two (2) years of social casework or employment services experience with a public or private agency/organization.
Thirty (30) semester or forty-five (45) quarter units equal one year.
Possession of a Master’s degree in Social Work or Counseling may be substituted for one (1) year of the required experience.
Analyzing and Interpreting Data: Drawing meaning and conclusions from quantitative or qualitative data
Reading Comprehension: Understanding and using written language
Handling and Resolving Conflict: Managing interpersonally strained situations

Eligible List/Score Report:
A confidential eligible list of applicant names that have passed the civil service examination process will be created and used for certification purposes only. An examination score report will be established, so applicants can view the ranks, final scores and number of eligible candidates. Applicant information, including names of applicants on the eligible list, shall not be made public unless required by law. However, an eligible list shall be made available for public inspection, upon request, once the eligible list is exhausted or expired and referrals resolved. The eligible list/score report resulting from this civil service examination process is subject to change after adoption (e.g., as a result of appeals), as directed by the Human Resources Director or the Civil Service Commission.
The duration of the eligible list resulting from this examination process will be

months
and may be extended with the approval of the Human Resources Director.
Responsibilities
Positions in this classification are responsible for carrying out specialized functions for an assigned human service program which require a comprehensive knowledge of federal, state, local and departmental policies, procedures, rules and regulations.
Review and track department compliance with federal and state regulations related to case service delivery, ensuring payment requests are accurate and services are appropriate.
Conduct field investigations, including in-home visits and collateral contacts with families, service providers, medical and school staff, and other professionals to verify compliance and service effectiveness.
Perform desk reviews of client cases; interview families, service providers, and stakeholders; evaluate data for errors and assess compliance with regulations; make recommendations or referrals for further investigation.
Schedule and conduct audits; assess findings for accuracy and discuss results with assigned staff or supervisors to ensure compliance and corrective actions.
Prepare and submit statistical and narrative reports documenting compliance findings, and program outcomes.
