Requirements
Class 1 driver’s license is an asset; Class 1 driver’s license required to operate some equipment
Experience in asphalt patching preferred
Experience towing a trailer
Ability to operate heavy equipment (bobcat, packer, backhoe, etc.)
Ability to use hand/power tools
Ability to do basic maintenance on equipment would be an asset

Responsibilities
Transportation and Utilities is looking for a full-time permanent Heavy Equipment Operator for our Operations Programs team to work primarily on our Paving and Patching Crew in the summer months and Urban snow removal in winter.
The successful candidate will have the capability to operate various pieces of heavy equipment such as grader, paver, gravel truck, loader, snowblower and bobcat.
Operating various pieces of heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner.
Clean, maintain and secure all equipment as directed by legislation, policies and procedures.
Operate loader and backhoe to load trucks.
