Dredge Deckhand

High school diploma or GED required

Able to take and successfully complete Boat Safe (having it completed is an asset)

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

Good people skills, problem-solving abilities, empathy for others and a willingness to work together toward the common good.

Good written and verbal communication skills and Basic math skills

Work with the dredge team to understand and execute duties for daily dredge operations

Complete and document equipment inspections, escalating any deficiencies, and ensure safe, compliant operations

Aid mechanics in dredge maintenance and repair

Able to complete shore work which includes moving anchors and helping to repositioning dredge

Drive watercraft safely between shore and dredge

Perform any job-related duties assigned by the Mine Manager and Plant Superintendent.
