Requirements
Serve as the special education teacher in an Integrated Co-Teaching (ICT) classroom, ensuring delivery of the ICT mandate as written on students’ IEPs in alignment with NYSED requirements
Collaboratively plan with the general education teacher using academic and behavioral data to design instruction that embeds SDI aligned to IEP goals while ensuring students can access grade-level STEM curriculum and standards.
Co-teach using a variety of co-teaching models intentionally selected to maximize student access to grade-level content
Demonstrate deep knowledge of Specially Designed Instruction (SDI) through clear, objective-driven instruction and active student engagement, and provide SDI tailored to meet the unique needs of each student with disabilities
Use progress monitoring data to inform the revision and development of IEP goals, ensuring goals remain responsive to student growth and instructional needs
Collaborate with colleagues to improve outcomes for students with disabilities and contribute to an inclusive learning environment across the school community

The Elementary School ICT Specialist understands, plans, and executes key elements of innovative pedagogy, co-teaching practices, and data-based decision-making through a deep love of learning and commitment to internalizing and teaching rigorous classical content in an inspiring and culturally relevant way.
