Requirements
Commissioned peace officer with a Master TCOLE license issued by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE). Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible law enforcement experience, including supervisory duties. Demonstrated knowledge of criminal law, traffic enforcement, and university regulations. Experience coordinating law enforcement operations and supervising police personnel. Strong written and verbal communication skills for report preparation and interagency coordination. Ability to work in all weather conditions and during nights, weekends, holidays, and emergency situations. Physical ability to perform duties including climbing stairs/ladders, lifting/moving objects, and wearing required uniforms or PPE. Proficiency in using standard office equipment and systems, including keyboarding and report systems. Must have a minimum of 2 years in an executive rank at or above the rank of Captain or Commander. Experience in managing policing in an educational environment. Investigative experience to include collaboration and coordination with State and Federal Law Enforcement.
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Nice to have:
Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Public Administration, or a related field. Experience working in a university or campus law enforcement environment. Familiarity with the University of Texas System policies and Board of Regents’ Rules and Regulations. Prior involvement in civil defense or emergency preparedness programs. Experience instructing or developing training programs for law enforcement personnel. Demonstrated ability to collaborate with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies. Strong analytical skills for evaluating departmental performance and recommending improvements
Compensation & Benefits
$105,643 + depending on qualifications

Responsibilities
Coordinate police staff and criminal enforcement programs.
Supervise departmental activities including law enforcement and Board of Regents' regulations.
Evaluate subordinates and correct performance issues.
Prepare and review reports on traffic violations.
Liaise with local enforcement and court officials.
Assist in recruitment and training programs.
