Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities: Skill in the decontamination, tray assembly and sterilization of surgical instruments for the Operating Room and other departments requiring the reprocessing of surgical instrumentation.
Essential Functions:
Cleans, disassembles, sorts, decontaminates, reassembles, packages and sterilizes reusable surgical instrumentation following manufacturer’s guidelines and departmental policy and procedure.
Operates automated washers, cart washers, ultrasonic washers, and sterilizers in a safe and efficient manner following manufacturers’ written instructions and department policy and procedure.
Uses the Abacus Instrument Tracking System in the assembly of surgical trays and peel pouched items.
Demonstrates good communication skills, verbal and non-verbal, when interacting with internal and external customers.
