5+ years of experience shipping titles as a Systems Designer, working on progression, economy, gameplay system, and gameplay balance features and content
Experience working on live-service multiplayer environments and ability to get your hands dirty in Unreal Engine is preferred, bonus points for mobile game experience
Demonstrated talent for empathizing with players and a deep understanding of player motivations, forms of play, and the effects of progression and goal setting on play
Strong interest in game progression and economies, and an understanding of what makes them work
Ability to take initiative and react quickly to changing project needs, drive decisions, then owning the outcome and vision

The expected annual base pay range(s) for this position are detailed below. Each base pay range is relevant only for individuals who are residents of or will be expected to work within the specified locale. Compensation varies based on a variety of factors, which include (but aren’t limited to) things such as skills and competencies, qualifications, knowledge, and experience. In addition to base pay, most employees are eligible to participate in Epic’s generous benefit plans and discretionary incentive programs (subject to the terms of those plans or programs).

Responsibilities
Epic Games is looking for a Senior Systems Designer to own the development of key progression, economy, and gameplay balance-related features for a new game project. This includes designing and prototyping the features, working with a cross-disciplinary development team to implement them, and ultimately seeing them through to ship and beyond, maintaining and evolving them in a live game environment, and above all, making sure our players are having fun.
