Requirements
5+ years of hands-on experience in fiber optic network design, surveying, testing, and OSP/ISP deployments (experience may substitute for formal education).
Proficiency with IQGeo Network Manager and CAD or similar geospatial design tools.
Experience with fiber testing equipment (VFL, OPM) and cross-connect/jumper installations.
Strong knowledge of fiber optic standards, connector cleaning/inspection, and jumper/cross-connect routing.
Experience with NetBox (or similar DCIM/IPAM tools) is a plus.
Experience collaborating on permitting processes and QA in telecom or data center environments.
Responsibilities
As a Fiber Documentation Technician, you will be responsible for designing, documenting, and optimizing fiber optic networks to support xAI’s high-performance infrastructure.
You will conduct site surveys, produce detailed OSP/ISP designs, manage cross-connects, perform basic fiber testing, and ensure accurate records in our tools.
Document and design fiber networks using IQGeo Network Manager and CAD, including route modeling, data import, and report generation.
Conduct site surveys and produce detailed OSP (aerial/underground) and ISP (building entry/riser) connectivity designs in GIS and/or CAD.
Survey, document, and install/run jumpers for new and existing fiber cross-connects; maintain accurate records in IQGeo and CAD.
Perform basic fiber testing with VFL (fault location) and OPM (power/loss measurement); clean connectors and inspect end-faces.
