Requirements
5 years of vehicle maintenance experience required; 8 years preferred
Extensive knowledge of diesel engines, vehicle systems, and general vehicle maintenance practices
Knowledge of 12- and 24-volt electrical systems preferred
Knowledge of computer maintenance management systems (CMMS), preferably Limble
Knowledge of applicable safety standards, regulations, and compliance requirements related to vehicle maintenance operations
Skilled in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing vehicles, snowcats, and heavy equipment

Work Environment & Physical Demands
Ability to reach, crouch, kneel, stand or be on your feet, kneel and bend for extended periods of time
Regularly work in adverse conditions and required to use protective equipment to prevent exposure to hazardous materials as well as an office environment and may be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces
Must be able to frequently lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs. individually or with assistance

Responsibilities
The Vehicle Shop Manager leads all aspects of fleet maintenance operations for Aspen Snowmass, overseeing the repair, preventive maintenance, and reliability of vehicles, snowcats, and heavy equipment that support year-round mountain operations. This role provides leadership to the Vehicle Shop team, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards of quality and operational excellence.
The Vehicle Shop Manager collaborates with departments across the organization to maximize fleet availability, support business needs, and maintain compliance with applicable safety and regulatory requirements.
Essential Job Functions / Key Job Responsibilities
Manage Vehicle Shop staff, including interviewing, hiring, training, scheduling, assigning and directing work, evaluating performance, recognizing achievements, addressing employee concerns, and administering corrective action as needed
Support 24/7 fleet maintenance operations during the winter season
Prepare, manage, and administer the annual operating budget
