Requirements
JD from an ABA accredited law school and admission to and active status in at least one state bar (and eligible to register for California’s or an applicable state bar’s in-house counsel program).
6-8+ years of employment law experience, with a strong foundation in the U.S. (especially California) employment law and exposure to global employment issues.
Combination of top-tier law firm and in-house experience preferred, ideally with a CEO-founder led technology or high-growth public company.
Demonstrated ability to provide clear, decisive guidance and take ownership of outcomes in a business environment.
Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, with a practical, business-oriented approach.
Comfort working independently with limited resources, while maintaining strong judgment and prioritization skills.
Responsibilities
AppLovin is seeking an experienced, intellectually curious, and highly motivated Employment Counsel to join our growing Legal team. This is an exciting opportunity for a business-oriented employment attorney at a fast-paced, publicly traded technology company with a global footprint.
This role reports to the Chief Administrative & Legal Officer. You will partner closely with HR, business leaders, and executives to provide proactive, practical advice across the employee lifecycle.
The ideal candidate has deep expertise in U.S. (especially California) employment law as well as experience with global employment matters, especially in EMEA and APAC. You are comfortable problem-solving with business leaders and moving matters forward in a dynamic, high-growth environment, using sound judgment, commercial awareness, and a collaborative approach in a global organization.
Serve as the primary legal advisor on day-to-day employment law matters across the companies global locations, including hiring, performance management, accommodations, investigations, and separations/terminations.
Partner closely with the People Team and business leaders to provide practical, risk-balanced guidance and help reach decisions in complex or ambiguous situations.
