Education :
A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and relevant experience.
Experiences :
Basic understanding of bindery services;
Experience in bindery operations, including proficiency in operating computer-based franking and addressing machines, automated inserting machines, folders as well as perforating, and scoring.
Knowledge of various Microsoft Office Suite and other printing technology software.

Responsibilities
The House of Commons’ Parliamentary Precinct Operations is currently looking to staff the Assistant Finishing Operator (commercial printing) position.
The assistant finishing Operator is responsible for the final steps in processing printed products for Members of Parliament and other clients on Parliament Hill. This involves following specific House of Commons guidelines and using various machines to prepare, adjust, operate, and maintain equipment like binders, inserters, and inkjet systems. Tasks include addressing, inserting, folding, scoring, perforating, franking, and preparing mail, as well as binding, boxing, and tagging finished products for shipping.
Standard working hours are during the day, however, due to operational requirements, you may be required to work evening shifts.
This role requires significant physical efforts and therefore, the candidates must successfully pass a pre-placement medical/ physical fitness assessment.
