Requirements

Must have an Ontario Secondary School Graduation Diploma or Ontario Ministry of Education equivalency;

Must be available to work on weekends.

Must demonstrate excellent public service and customer relations skills;

Must hold and maintain a current valid and lawful Class G Driver’s Licence in accordance with the Highway Traffic Act, for the purposes of operating a City of Windsor vehicle and provide a driver’s abstract as a condition of employment;

Must have effective time management and organizational skills;

Compensation & Benefits

Personal information is collected under the authority of the Municipal Act, c. 25 as amended, and will be used to determine eligibility for employment.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Manager of Public Services this position will be responsible:

To be a part of the team providing support services for the Windsor Public Library.

Organizes the collection and delivery of all materials for the Windsor Public Library system and to external agencies.

Promotes the Windsor Public Library Mission Statement; provides excellent customer service.

Operate a delivery vehicle within city limits; collects, sorts, receives and distributes materials, including but not limited to books and supplies, throughout the Windsor Public Library system and external agencies e.g. long-term care facilities; Collects, sorts, receives and distributes mail throughout the Windsor Public Library system and external agencies e.g. city departments, customs broker and Canada Post.

Maintains delivery truck and perform daily delivery truck inspections in accordance with the Ministry of Transportation guidelines and maintain daily log.
