Requirements
As a Senior Staff Accountant, you will be a key member of our accounting team, responsible for performing period-end close functions including preparing journal entries, account reconciliations and monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements. In addition, you will be responsible for technical accounting areas such as accounts receivable, grants, revenue, internal controls, and financial reporting. As the Company grows, this role will partner with the Accounting Manager and Controller to develop and improve the Company’s internal controls, policies and procedures.
Minimum of 3 to 5 years of proven experience, including a combination of public accounting and shown experience in a large, multinational manufacturing company
CPA highly preferred
Extensive experience with technical accounting research and GAAP reporting
Experience with mid to large-scale ERP systems preferred in a manufacturing environment (Sage X3,Coupa)
Responsibilities
Perform month-end closing activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and preparation of financial statements in accordance with US GAAP
Support the annual audit process, including liaising with external auditors, providing audit support, and addressing questions or concerns during the audit process
Grants: Maintain grant tracking schedules, record grant-related journal entries, and assess accounting implications of grant activities based on US GAAP (e.g., recording revenue and receivable entries, tracking aging of grant receivables, and creating invoices, etc.)
Accounts Receivable: collaborate effectively with the sales operations team, providing essential financial and tax-related support throughout the sales cycle including quotations, sales order confirmations and invoicing
Oversee various key balance sheet accounts such as revenue, accounts receivable, and accrued liabilities
Perform independent research and draft technical accounting memos on various complex accounting issues (e.g., revenue recognition from contracts with customers under ASC 606, etc.)
