Nurse Practitioner - Baltimore City Health Department

Knowledge of the principles, objectives and techniques of community health nursing.

Knowledge of the diagnostic treatment and consultation skills expected of a nurse practitioner and/or nurse midwife.

Ability to interview and record the medical history of patients.

Ability to deal with patients and physicians and other health care professionals.

Ability to maintain records and prepare reports

A Nurse Practitioner under the supervision of a physician performs a variety of medical care services for patients in a City agency health program.

Incumbents receive general supervision from a technical superior.
