2 years of active licensed SLP experience is required; competent in 2-3 of the following areas: Bedside Swallow Evaluation, Videofluoroscopy, Blue Dye Swallow Evaluation.

Responsibilities

Conducts clinical speech and language pathology services including patient evaluation, interpretation of evaluation results and intervention relating to various diagnoses for pediatric, child, adult and geriatric patients.

The therapist will accurately assess and treat language/speech and swallowing impairments resulting from neurological insult/disease, developmental disabilities and delays, impaired oral motor abilities or laryngeal functions, dehydration/malnutrition or change in anatomy secondary to trauma or surgery.

Communicates with physicians and other referral sources, and provides clinical guidance to non-licensed personnel.

The Therapist will administer contrast media, under the direct supervision of the attending radiologist, during video-fluoroscopy in order to observe, collect data, and measure parameters of swallowing.
