Minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Biology or Genetics from an accredited university.

Ministry of Labour \u201CWorker Health and Safety Awareness in 4 Steps\u201D training certificate.

Successful completion of a Genetic Assistant training program is an asset.

Previous related experience in a genetics setting is preferred.

Provide ongoing operational support to the Genetic Counsellors.

Assist with screening/triaging and accepting or declining patient referrals.

Triage and complete requests for specific genetic information from patient and physician requests, ensuring appropriate patient consent for disclosure is in place.

Organize and prepare patient charts for a variety of genetic consults; obtain a complete family history from the patient, prepare and review pedigree information, obtain and review appropriate medical records and other relevant information.
