Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant work experience.

Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) registration in the Province of Saskatchewan is considered an asset.

Minimum 5–10 years of relevant experience in the electrical discipline on large-scale capital projects, preferably within mining, potash, heavy industrial, or similarly complex construction environments.

Strong working knowledge of quality management systems, including ISO standards, inspection and test plans (ITPs), and auditing processes supporting major project delivery.

High attention to detail and a demonstrated commitment to quality outcomes, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement.

Ability to quickly learn and apply new systems, standards, and technologies within a fast-paced project environment.

Responsibilities

Bantrel is currently seeking a qualified

Electrical & Instrumentation Field Engineer

(Industrial Projects). to join our mining team, based out of Leroy, SK. The E&I HV Field Engineer will be responsible performing field inspections and participate in construction walk-downs They will focus on ensuring the relevant aspects of construction meets the electrical and instrumentation design intent. The E&I HV Field Engineer shall address electrical, and instrumentation technical queries and non-conformance reports related to the mechanical design. They will work mainly within the Integrated Construction Centre ICC platforms to issue technical queries, non-conformance reports, and other notices when necessary. The E&I HV Field Engineer shall form the link between the Owner (BHP), Engineers of Record (HBJV) and the construction team for all electrical and instrumentation engineering related work. This shall include interpretation of designs and technical & engineering functional standards and seeking validation as required to support the construction team. Join us in this full-time permanent role and be a champion of diversity and inclusion.

Hatch and Bantrel have formed the Hatch Bantrel Joint Venture (HBJV) to execute engineering and construction on the BHP Jansen Potash Mine Project in Saskatchewan. After successfully completing the Definition Phase Study for the project, the HBJV is currently carrying out the Detailed Engineering Phase for the Processing, Non-Process Infrastructure (NPI) and Mining Areas of the 4.5 Mtpa Stage 1 Potash Mine. With a published TIC of US $5.3-5.7 Billion this will represent one of the largest projects and private investments in Canada. The HBJV will use a hybrid of best-in-class new developing technologies and systems as well as the proven HBJV suite of tools to execute this exciting project.
