Requirements
Prior experience supporting or teaching children ages 3–5 in a Montessori or early childhood classroom setting
Experience working effectively across lines of difference and fostering an inclusive, welcoming environment for all children and families
Demonstrated reliability and flexibility in supporting school operations, including meal service, playground supervision,
with classroom coverage as needed, and lead after-school activities
Compensation & Benefits
This is a limited-term role expected to last through December 2026, though there could be an opportunity to extend employment or move into a permanent position.
School schedules vary depending on community needs but generally range from 8am-5:30pm, with teachers staggered across these hours with varying start and end times totaling no more than 8 hours per day. Your specific schedule will be determined with your school leader when considering all staff, classroom, and community needs.
This is a full time (40 hours per week), non-exempt/hourly position.
This role includes 32 days of scheduled breaks, 3 days of paid personal time off, 9 paid days of care (sick) time, 10 paid holidays, and additional time off if required by applicable law. Responsibilities
NOTE: The combination of responsibilities may vary based on the needs of the school site, students, and prior experiences of the Assistant Teacher
As needed, independently supervise children throughout the day in classrooms and a variety of other situations, including but not limited to arrival/departure, transitions, outside time, rest/nap time, and (if offered) extended hours
Assist in maintaining accurate child and family records
Support Bezos Academy classrooms by following regulations and guidelines in the day-to-day operation of the classroom and school (e.g.
cleaning/preparing materials, meal prep and cleanup, nap time transitions, laundry, bathroom supervision, etc.)
Support school leadership and teachers to foster a nurturing, safe, and stimulating, non-competitive school environment
