Requirements

Must have an Ontario Secondary School Graduation Diploma plus a Community College Diploma in Nursing, or Ontario Ministry of Education equivalency, combined with 4 years of experience in the field of geriatric, rehabilitation or long term care in a computerized environment

OR

University Degree in Nursing, combined with 2 years of experience in the field of geriatric, rehabilitation or long-term care in a computerized environment;

Must hold and maintain a current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse;

Must have the ability to travel to off site locations in a timely and expedient manner as required. If method of travel is by vehicle, a current valid Ontario Driver’s License is required.

Must have knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, the Corporate Health & Safety Policies and other applicable legislation it’s regulations and codes;

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Director of Care, this position will be responsible:

To ensure resident nursing care, including accountability for personnel, equipment supplies, records, and medication;

Participates in developing, interpreting and implementing of the nursing division’s philosophy, objectives, standards, policies and procedures;

Provide unit supervision, on call, shift work;

Assess the status of residents, including the identification of needs and appropriate interventions, as well as nursing preadmission requirements;

Assess the quality of nursing care provided by nursing staff including performance evaluations;
