Laboratory Technician C - Geochemistry

0-2 years previous laboratory experience.

Experience using a high precision microbalance for weighing samples is an asset.

An understanding of the principles of chemistry and preferably geochemistry.

This could be experience with natural gases, oils, oil industry experience, etc.

Unit conversion concepts.

Perform basic laboratory procedures including preparation of samples, reagents and calibration solutions

Transferring gases from cylinders to sample bags

Crushing rocks and sediments

Weighing samples on a micro balance

Filtering water samples and basic benchtop wet chemistry

Working in a fume hood with solvents such as toluene, hexane, etc.
