Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or related field.

1+ years experience in Clinical Nutrition, Dietetics, or related field.

Active registered dietitian (RD) license in relevant state(s).

Responsibilities

As a Registered Dietitian, you will use your consultative expertise and compassion to help patients understand that what they eat directly affects their overall health and the progression of chronic kidney disease (CKD). You will empower patients to take ownership of their health through building a relationship and working them through their goals. As a vital member of the patient's care team, you will educate patients and their families on a wide range of nutritional topics such as diabetes, hypertension, and congestive heart failure (CHF) to help slow the progression of CKD. This position reports to the Manager of Regional Dietetics.

The Day to Day

Consults with patients and their families on individualized Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) education and disease management based on individualized patient needs including labs, nutrient requirements, knowledge and abilities, medical, economic, and social situation.

Assesses on-going nutritional status on subsequent follow-up visits to determine appropriate nutrition interventions and recommendations.

Educates on meal planning, grocery shopping, and eating out, based on patient’s individualized goals.

Teaches patient about managing blood sugars, sodium/fluid restriction, limiting protein, and weight management.
