This role involves educating patients about their diet and nutrition plans and acting as a key nutrition resource for medical and nursing staff, as well as other healthcare team members.

The Clinical Dietitian collaborates closely with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement nutrition services and medical nutrition therapy based on established standards of care and practice guidelines.

Ambulatory Clinical Dietitians in specialty departments are responsible for the clinical nutrition care of patients with complex or specialized dietary needs.

The Clinical Dietitian in specialty departments functions as a professional consultant and member of the health care team providing high quality, evidence-based nutrition care for their designated specific patient population.
