Requirements
5+ years of hands-on technical experience in mechanical, electrical, automotive, or robotics industries.
Strong machinist skill sets with a demonstrated ability to assemble prototypes and follow engineering instructions (drawings, CAD) precisely.
Deep knowledge of EH&S and OSHA standards, including safety protocols for shop power tools, heavy machinery, and hazardous materials.
Demonstrated experience in inventory management, procurement of key components, and maintaining supplier relationships.
Proficiency with shop tools, including 3D printers, diagnostic instruments, and manual machining equipment (drills, saws, grinders).
Strong understanding of schematics and datasheets, with the ability to interpret them accurately for complex builds.
Responsibilities
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented
Shop Operations Lead
to join our team. In this versatile role, you will be the backbone of the Prototype and Integration Engineering workspace, ensuring a safe, functional, and efficient environment for our machinists, builders, and makers. You will own workspace management, compliance, and shop equipment upkeep, working closely with facilities to ensure maximum uptime.
Beyond operational leadership, this is a hands-on role where you will leverage your machinist skill sets to support physical builds during peak cycles. You will act as a Prototype and Integration Technician when needed—troubleshooting complex electromechanical systems, assembling robotic vehicles, and helping the engineering team maintain a world-class development capability.
Maintain and manage the workspace, office infrastructure, and shipping/receiving to ensure a high-functioning environment.
