Follows department protocol regarding confidentiality of data and information.

Knowledge of disciplines, estimating techniques and cost control

Accuracy and thoroughness – monitors work to ensure quality

3-5 years’ experience with projects of 5 million and larger.

Reviews project specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.

Prepares estimates including performing quantity takeoffs.

Maintains files of working documents as back-up for estimate figures, including current (accurate) information on prices from suppliers and subcontractors.

Requests quotations; organizes, reviews and logs quotes received.

Visits project sites to evaluate implications upon final estimate costing.

Performs post-bid analysis and participates in project hand-off meetings.
